We shipped two screw conveyors and two vertical cuttings dryers to a drilling project in Egypt this week, with a set of spare parts for both machines on the same load. Once the units reach the rig, they will handle cuttings transport and drilling fluid recovery.
The screw conveyors are TRSC14B-48 units. Each carries a 14.6-meter screw and runs at 50 to 70 rpm, moving up to 45 tons of cuttings per hour off the shaker line.

The cuttings dryers are TRVCD930G-VFD units. At up to 900 rpm, they use centrifugal force to separate residual drilling fluid from the cuttings before discharge. The recovered fluid goes back into the mud system instead of leaving the rig with the cuttings. Throughput is 30 to 50 tons per hour, and the VFD lets operators adjust the running speed to match the mud weight and cuttings load on any given day.

Both machines carry an Ex d IIB T4 rating, motor housings and terminal boxes included, so they can be installed in the classified areas around the mud system.
The spare parts kit went out with the machines: eight wear tiles, four screen baskets, six belts, and four hanger bearings for the conveyors. Since replacement parts can take time to reach an overseas job site, the spare parts were sent with the equipment.
Loading and transport were handled by our own crew. Each unit was rigged with the overhead crane and nylon slings, lifted off the shop floor, and set onto the flatbed. The machines were secured at multiple points across the trailer bed. The spare parts crates and a run of loose steel tubing went on the same load, secured tight enough to stay put through the road leg and the ocean crossing that follows.

None of the units on this load was a stock configuration. The equipment was configured around the requirements of this project, including flow rate, RPM range, and the Ex rating.
Every machine went through full assembly and inspection before shipment to support faster installation and commissioning at the drilling site.
The equipment is now on its way to Egypt, where it will be used for cuttings transport and drilling fluid recovery on the drilling project.
