Mud Decanter Centrifuge

TR Decanter Centrifuge is a horizontal decanter centrifuge for solid-liquid separation in drilling fluid and drilling waste treatment. Centrifugal force removes suspended solids from drilling mud during continuous operation.

As a drilling mud centrifuge, it serves oil and gas drilling, drilling waste management (DWM), HDD mud recycling, and geothermal drilling. In DWM systems, it can be installed downstream of a vertical cuttings dryer. It removes fine particles from recovered fluid and returns reusable mud to the treatment system.

Different bowl sizes and drive configurations cover different feed capacities and process requirements.

Working Principle

Feed slurry enters the rotating bowl through a stationary inlet tube. A feed rotor accelerates the slurry to bowl speed before it reaches the separation zone.

Centrifugal force drives suspended particles toward the bowl wall to form a sediment layer. The screw conveyor and bowl rotate in the same direction at different speeds. This differential speed moves the settled material toward the tapered end for discharge. Clarified liquid flows toward the opposite end and exits through adjustable overflow ports.

New Materials

The main bowl and collection housing use Duplex 2205 stainless steel. Compared with 316L, it offers higher strength and better resistance to chloride pitting and stress-corrosion cracking, making it suitable for corrosive drilling fluids.

Replaceable ceramic inserts protect the solids discharge outlets. The main unit and gearbox covers are made of stainless steel.
