Ash Tank

The Oilfield Vertical Ash Tank is a vertical storage and pneumatic discharge tank for dry powder materials used at oilfield drilling and cementing sites. It stores bulk cement, barite and bentonite and feeds the material into a discharge pipeline for transfer.

The tank is also suitable for other dry powders with a bulk density below 1.7 t/m³ and a particle size below 0.5 mm. Its vertical layout provides enclosed storage while keeping the installation area compact. It can also be integrated into a bulk powder transfer system for drilling or cementing operations.

Working Principle & Main Components

Bulk cement, barite, bentonite or other suitable dry powder is loaded through the inlet pipe. When the tank is discharging, compressed air enters the aeration system at the bottom and fluidizes the powder. The fluidized powder then moves toward the outlet and enters the discharge pipeline.

The butterfly valve controls the material flow at the outlet. An air purge line clears powder buildup around the discharge area. The pressure gauge shows the tank pressure during operation, while the safety valve protects the tank against excessive pressure.

Where a weighing system is installed, the tank weight can also be monitored to track the amount of material discharged.
