Diesel Tank

The TR Diesel Tank is an integrated fuel storage and supply unit for oilfield drilling rigs. It consists of a main storage tank and an elevated tank, with an oil transfer pump moving diesel between the two.

The unit also includes a diesel filter, flowmeter, level gauge, explosion-proof level control system, valves and piping. The elevated tank provides a gravity-fed fuel supply to connected drilling equipment.

Diesel Tank Parameters

Working Principle

Diesel stored in the main tank is pumped through the filter and flowmeter into the elevated tank.

The level control system stops the transfer pump at the high-level set point and restarts it when the liquid falls to the low-level set point.

Fuel then flows by gravity from the elevated tank to the connected drilling rig equipment, eliminating the need for continuous pumping from the main tank.

Diesel Tank Selection

Select the diesel tank according to the required main storage capacity, elevated tank capacity and transfer pump power. For cold-weather operations, check whether a heating system is required.

For drilling rigs that are frequently relocated, also check the overall transport dimensions and the available lifting or towing arrangements.

The explosion-proof classification should be verified against the electrical and site requirements of the drilling location.
