Jet Mud Mixer

The TR Jet Mud Mixer, also known as a mud mixing hopper, is installed beside the mud tank in a drilling fluid system. It is used to prepare drilling fluid, increase mud volume, and adjust mud properties by adding weighting materials or chemical additives.

A complete unit consists of a centrifugal sand pump, a jet mixing hopper, and a manifold and valve assembly mounted on a common base. Single and dual configurations are available. The pump and hopper can also be installed separately to suit the tank layout, with the hopper mounted on the tank and the pump installed alongside it.

The mixer handles barite, bentonite, polymers and other drilling fluid additives.

How It Works

The centrifugal pump draws drilling fluid from the mud tank and sends it to the mixing hopper under pressure. As the fluid passes through the nozzle at high velocity, the Venturi effect draws dry additives into the hopper.

The additives mix with the circulating mud in the hopper before returning to the tank. The mixed fluid then continues through the mud circulation system.
