Horizontal Flare Ignition Device

The Horizontal Flare Ignition Device uses diesel fuel to ignite combustible gas released from a mud gas separator during oil and gas drilling operations.

The unit includes a horizontal flare assembly, diesel tank, fixed control box, and portable control box. A 50 m 5-core armoured cable connects the two control boxes. The fixed control box is used for local operation. The portable control box allows operators to activate electronic ignition from a safe location.

Working Principle

Gas separated from the drilling fluid flows from the mud gas separator to the flare through the gas discharge line. Once ignition is activated, the diesel ignition unit generates a flame to ignite the combustible gas.
