Centrifugal Degasser

The TRLCQ300 is an atmospheric vertical centrifugal degasser for drilling fluid systems. It removes entrained gas from gas-cut mud to help restore mud density and stabilize mud properties.

The unit has a compact vertical layout with a rotating impeller, degassing chamber and separate gas pressurizing unit. It handles up to 300 m³/h of drilling fluid, with a maximum degassing capacity of 30 m³/h.

Working Principle

Gas-cut drilling fluid is drawn into the degasser vessel by the rotating impeller. The rotating impeller forms a cylindrical layer of mud around a central inverted-cone gas space. The mud is discharged tangentially through the mud outlet.

As the impeller rotates, entrained gas bubbles break out of the mud and collect in the central gas space. The separated gas passes through the narrow passage between the gas distribution disc and the gas separation ring and enters the gas discharge chamber. It then flows through the gas manifold and braided hose to the separate pressurizing unit. The gas is pressurized and discharged through the gas outlet.

Applications

The TRLCQ300 is designed for gas-cut drilling fluid in oil and gas drilling. It is typically installed downstream of the shale shaker to remove entrained gas before further mud treatment.

• Gas-cut mud: Suitable for circulating systems affected by gas intrusion.

• Drilling fluid treatment: Used as part of the mud treatment line after solids removal.
