Mud Purifier

TR Mud Purifier is a horizontal centrifugal solids separator for full-flow treatment of drilling mud and construction slurry.

A specially designed rotating bowl separates sand, drilled cuttings, and other solid particles from the liquid phase. A conveyor screw continuously conveys the separated solids to the discharge outlet.

Unlike hydrocyclone-based desanders and desilters, the Mud Purifier uses the rotating bowl to generate the centrifugal force needed for separation. It therefore does not require a separate centrifugal pump for hydrocyclone feed.

The unit handles both weighted and unweighted mud. For weighted mud, it removes unwanted solids while helping maintain the required mud density.

Working Principle

Mud enters the rotating bowl, where centrifugal force drives denser solid particles toward the bowl wall while the liquid phase remains closer to the bowl axis.

The conveyor screw rotates at a different speed from the bowl. This differential speed scrapes the settled solids from the bowl wall and conveys them toward the smaller end of the bowl for continuous discharge.
