Following pre-shipment inspection, TR Solids Control prepared a customized mud gas separator and mud mixing tank package for a drilling project in Singapore. The equipment was divided into transportable modules, protected for shipment and dispatched to the project site.
The mud mixing tanks are used for preparing, mixing and maintaining drilling fluid before it enters the circulation system.
The equipment was split into modules for transportation. This reduces the amount of assembly and field welding required at the site, particularly where site access, lifting capacity and hot-work permit restrictions apply.

Field welding can also require additional weld inspections, welder qualification checks and pressure testing. These steps can extend the installation and acceptance process before the equipment is ready for operation.
Before loading, all flange openings were protected with blind flanges, and smaller pipe openings were sealed with plastic plugs. Exposed edges were guarded, and padding was placed wherever a sling or chain could contact painted surfaces. These measures protect flange faces, pipe connections and protective coatings during transportation.
A mud gas separator, also known as Poor Boy degasser on drilling sites, is installed downstream of the choke manifold. Gas-cut mud enters the vessel, where larger free gas bubbles separate from the liquid and leave through the vent line. The liquid then returns to the active mud system.
The separator is supplied with matching inlet and outlet piping. Before fabrication, connection positions and pipe dimensions are checked against the project layout drawings. This reduces the risk of finding mismatched interfaces during rig-up and needing additional spool pieces or pipe modifications at the site.

The TRZYQ series is available in processing capacities of 180, 240 and 320 m³/h, approximately 790 to 1,410 gpm. Equipment configuration varies with the operating environment. Offshore installations call for corrosion-resistant protection, cold-weather operations require insulation and freeze protection, and desert applications need electrical components rated for the expected ambient temperature.
Singapore's humid climate makes moisture control an important part of equipment packing and storage. The shipment was prepared with protective measures for the equipment and wooden packaging during international transportation.
The final configuration is selected according to the drilling fluid, required processing capacity and site conditions.

For overseas orders, TR provides remote technical guidance during installation and commissioning. The engineering team works with the site crew to resolve installation and commissioning questions.
When requesting a package, provide the required flow rate, mud weight range and tank layout. Existing layout drawings are also useful for checking pipe interfaces before fabrication begins.
