The vacuum degasser is composed of suction pipe, vacuum tank, main motor, separation rotor assembly, water ring vacuum pump, gas-water separator and other components, adopting scientific structural design. Its working principle is as follows: by using the suction effect of the vacuum pump, negative pressure zone is created inside the vacuum tank. Under the action of atmospheric pressure, the mud enters the hollow shaft of the rotor through the suction pipe. Then the main motor drives the rotor to rotate at high speed, throwing the gas-invaded mud from the suction pipe to the tank wall. Due to the collision and the function of the separation wheel, the drilling fluid is separated into thin layer, the bubbles immersed in the mud are broken, and the gas is released. Through the suction of vacuum pump and the separation of gas-water separator, the gas is discharged to safe area through the exhaust pipe of the separator, and the mud is discharged out of tank by impeller.
During drilling operations, the gas carried by the drilling fluid from the well kick affects the mud performance. The vacuum degasser can remove the small entrained bubbles remaining in the mud from the mud/gas separator.
