Drilling fluid shale shaker is a key piece of equipment in drilling operations to control drilling fluid properties, maintain wellbore stability and improve drilling efficiency. As the primary purification device in the drilling fluid solids control system, its main function is to remove harmful solid cuttings from drilling fluid and provide favorable conditions for subsequent purification equipment.
Drilling fluid shale shaker is the first solids control equipment in the drilling mud purification system. It is mainly used to separate harmful solid particles such as cuttings with a particle size ≥ 74μm from drilling fluid, ensuring stable drilling fluid performance and providing qualified drilling fluid for downstream equipment. It can also be used as the underflow shaker for mud cleaners.
The shale shaker operates by using a motor to drive vibrators, creating a periodic inertial force. Drilling fluid flows onto the shaker screens. Under the exciting force, the basket, along with the screens, undergoes linear, circular, or elliptical motion. As the drilling fluid passes over the screens, solid particles are retained on the screen surface and discharged, while the liquid phase passes through the screens, achieving solid-liquid separation.
Excitation Force Generation:Usually generated by two vibrating motors or vibrators rotating in opposite directions based on the self-synchronization principle.
Solid-Liquid Separation:Under vibration force, solid particles are lifted and moved forward on the screens until discharged. Liquid and fine particles smaller than the screen aperture pass through the screens into the mud tank below, completing solid-liquid separation.
Main Components:
Screen box, special Shaker Screens (wave screens / pre-tensioned screens), vibration motors, shock-absorbing springs, base frame and angle adjustment mechanism.
Screens are mostly fixed with wedge block quick-clamping devices for easy on-site replacement.
